Payouts (Debits)

Move funds out of platform accounts through bank rails, internal transfers, or check delivery.

Move funds out of platform accounts by sending payouts through bank rails, internal account transfers, or physical check delivery.

PCE supports multiple payout methods so you can send money to external bank accounts, move funds between Passport accounts, issue mailed checks, and handle debit activity tied to external transaction workflows.

Prepare payout recipients

Before initiating a payout, you can save recipient details for reuse across supported payout methods.

  • Add External Accounts: Store your bank accounts existing outside the system, for repeat disbursements.
  • Add Payees as Contacts: Store third-party users' external bank accounts, or mailing addresses as reusable recipients for repeat disbursements.

This helps reduce manual data entry, improve consistency, and support recurring or bulk payout operations.

Types of Payout Flows

At a high level, payouts can be managed through the following types of payout flows:

Initiate debits from within the system

Funds are sent out by initiating the payout directly from your platform using a supported payout method.

  • Send payouts via ACH: Move funds from a platform account to an external bank account through the ACH network.
  • Send payouts via Wire (Domestic): Move funds from a platform account to an external bank account through the domestic wire network.
  • Send money via BOOK: Move funds between two Passport accounts within the system ecosystem without routing the payment through an external bank network.
  • Send payouts by check: Issue physical check payments to pre-registered addresses or contacts.

This flow is used when your platform is responsible for initiating the outbound movement of funds.

Handle external debits

Track and manage debit activity tied to fund movement between platform accounts and external bank accounts when operational review, matching, or reconciliation is required.

  • External Transactions: Review transfer activity, support matching and validation, and manage reconciliation or exception workflows.

This flow is useful when debit-related external bank activity requires visibility, manual review, or follow-up handling before final resolution.
