Supported IRS tax types and sub-types

The IRS tax type codes and payment sub-type suffixes supported for federal tax payments.

Federal tax payments are classified by an IRS tax type code and a payment sub-type suffix. The tax type code identifies the tax being paid, and the suffix identifies the kind of payment (for example, a federal tax deposit, an estimated payment, or a balance due). This page lists the supported codes so you can classify a tax payment correctly.

📘

These are tax payment classification codes. For the IRS informational forms PCE generates for your payors and recipients (1099-INT, 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, 1042-S), see Tax Forms.
